**Harvey Cushing**
Harvard Medical School, 1891
Even renowned surgeons once attended medical school; these are pages from volumes of notes on lectures taken by Harvey Cushing while a student at Harvard in the 1890s. The notes concern the topography of the brain and are from the lectures of Thomas Dwight (1843-1911). Cushing went on to become one of the world’s preeminent neurosurgeons, associated with the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, where he performed over 2,000 operations on brain tumors. The notes are taken on loose leaf binder paper.
